Nia Watson
This morning I
woke up in a daze
went to work and didn’t work
lost my sweater in the laundromat
told my neighbor “happy birthday”
held tightly to a stranger until my ancestors said
“go back home, daughter of the moon”
He ordered sushi when I left
and I threw up when I got home
