Felipe Livert, Geographer (UPLA, Chile), Master of Applied Economics (Ilades, Georgetown University, USA), Master of Public Administration (London School of Economics, UK), PhD in Development Studies (University of the Basque Country, Spain). He has 15 years of experience working in Chile at the Alberto Hurtado University (Assistant Professor) and the Ministry of Public Works (Executive Secretary). In addition, he has been a consultant for international organizations such as the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the International Labour Organization (ILO), Open Contracting Partnership (OCP), working on issues of local development, public budgeting and infrastructure planning.
His research covers different aspects related to local politics and development in Latin America. Specifically, the publications analyse the relationship between spatial inequality, institutions, electoral accountability and distributive politics. His main research has been published in World Development, Regional Studies, Electoral Studies and Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society .
