I hold a Ph.D. (distinction and honors) in Political Science from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-UL), a MA and a specialization degree in International Relations respectively from the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Puc-Rio), and a BA in Journalism from the Catholic University of Pernambuco (Unicap). In 2024, I concluded a post-doc at the San Tiago Dantas (Puc-SP, Unicamp and Unesp) interinstitutional programme in International Relations. I am now part of the specialization course in Governance, Finance and Sustainability in the Public Sector at the University of Brasília (UnB), the specialization course in Development, Industry and Foreign Trade at the Brazilian National School of Public Administration (Enap), and the BA in Economics at the Brasília Catholic University (UCB). 

My areas of interest are global governance, international regimes and multilateralism (trade, climate change, migration, food security and peace and security), foreign policy analysis and BRICS countries.

My works have been published in Global Society, International Negotiation, Contexto Internacional, Carta Internacional, Conjuntura Internacional, Mural Internacional and Brazilian Journal of International Relations. 

My Ph.D. thesis analyzed the role of developing powers, namely Brazil, in the regimes of climate change, food security, and peace and security (mainly use of the force, R2P and protection of civilians). I write on developing powers (Brazil, India, China), multilateralism, international organizations, global order, regimes, qualitative methods and international relations theories. 

From 2014 to 2017 I was a Marie Curie Fellow at ICS-UL. In 2016 I was a visiting doctoral researcher at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), in Hamburg, and at the Stellenbosch University, in South Africa. 

I collaborated and gave lectures at several instituions: (a) the Ph.D. in International Relations of San Tiago Dantas (Puc-SP, Unicamp and Unesp); (b) the Ph.D. program of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-UL); (c) the MA in Political Science of the University of Salamanca; (d) and the School of Politics and International Relations of the Queen Mary University of London. 

I also worked as a lecturer of International Politics and Political Thought at the Political Science Department of the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ), had a lecturer position at the IBMR Laureates (Brazil) teaching International Financial System and worked as a research assistant at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV, Brazil). 

Outside academia, I work for the government of Brazil as a career civil servant since 2024. Currently, I am working at the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) as a foreign trade analyst. Before, I was working at the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE), with the implementation of the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE), a flagship public policy that feeds more than 39 million students in 150 thousand schools in all Brazilian states and municipalities. In 2025, I helped organize the II Global Summit of the School Meals Coalition in Fortaleza, which reunited representatives from more than 80 coutries to discuss school feeding and promote technical cooperation.

Before that, I worked for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for three years as a programme and policy officer, dealing with topics such as South-South and triangular technical cooperation, humanitarian crises, food security, and social protection. Furthermore, I worked for other 3 years at the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) and coordinated a project on migration and health in Portugal (budget: 129,000€.) I was also part of a project involving Portugal, Brazil, Ireland and Belgium on return and reintegration (budget: 740,000€.) 

Prior to that, I developed a communications and marketing plan for the Civil House of the Presidency of Brazil in 2013; assisted refugees and worked with public information at the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in 2013/2014; and contributed as a researcher to Socialprotection.org, a platform part of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in 2017. 

I am a Brazilian and Portuguese national and speak Portuguese (native), English (C2), Spanish (C1), German (B1.2) and French (B1.3).
