This week, we established a design for our pet feeding station which we aim to have constructed by next week. We also officially decided to use bluetooth for the communication between the phone and the feeder, and we will use an HC-05 bluetooth module to do so. We also set a goal for next week to establish this bluetooth connection.
This week, we constructed our design for the ped feeding system, and tested its functionality with a servo motor. We have not yet established the bluetooth connection between the Arduino and the Android, but we hope to have that working as well as a basic layout for our application by next week.
This week we worked on our spreadsheet data for cat weight and feeding, and are working on the basic app layout. This layout will use the spreadsheet to pull feeding information that will be used by the feeder, which is next week's goal.
This week we fully established the connection between our app and our physical feeder using bluetooth (HC-05 chip on Arduino). Through a "Feed" button, we are able to open the door for food to flow out of the system.
This week we worked on the flow between activities within our app and made sure all user data was being saved correctly. We also worked on some design aspects of the app and began to combine our program with our physical system.
