The USS Essex was named for the first plane in the class that was produced more than any other class of aircraft, with almost 50 planes made.

History

The USS Essex was the 15th Lake Carriage-class destroyer made for the United Federation Air Force. She was built at the Gateway fleet construction facility in New Archton and flew for the first time immediately after. She was stationed at PMMS.
