The third of a planned four of the Prairie-class Destroyers, the USS Burke Park was named for the 8th State in the Federation, and the home of Burke Bark Shipbuilding.
After the success of the USS Capricorn, and the lessons learned from the USS Prairie, Gateway began construction of what would become the USS Burke Park, one of the newest vessels to join the fleet
Once the ship was completed, she was officially assigned to patrol Lake Carriage Hills, as the USS Capricorn was assigned to patrol Independence River.
After the completion of the USS Sun Prairie, both ships were assigned to Lake Carriage Hills, and so in mid-May, both vessels were launched onto the Lake. While the Sun Prairie was the true star of the show, the USS Burke Park actually accomplished far more than the Sun Prairie. Once the Sun Prairie completed trials and was tied up at port, the Burke Park engaged in an exciting and dangerous new mission.
After the Sun Prairie was docked, the USS Burke Park was selected to test the true capabilities of the Prairie-class. The Vessel was sailed up the Independence River's widest and shallowest point, and on multiple occasions was shown to successfully do so without running up on land.
After this task was successfully completed, the USS Burke Park was docked, as the peace continued to last.
