The Manona-class Light Frigates is a class of Light Frigates in service with the United Federation Air Force. All are named after Lakes or Rivers in Illinois or Wisconsin. Famously, USS Tichigan Sea, a member of this class, was the first command of future president Nicholas Lapord.
The Manona-class is based upon the Nakamura Lock, a particularly famous type of paper plane. The design is heavily modified from the original, but the lock is left intact. The Ships were originally authorized under the Fleet Modernization Act of Ainsley Wall, but were actually commissioned late into her presidency.
The Ships are so far the only type of mass produced (over 30 units) aircraft which has not changed the naming convention, as they are all named after Lakes or Rivers in either Wisconsin or Illinois. However, the separate Extended Bow type has no naming convention, and thus the second Manona, Mendota, and St. Croix are in the same type as the Maddox or the Port Royal.
