Centralia Canal Crisis

           The Centralia Canal Crisis officially began on the 6th of January, 2020, with the Federal Wisconsinite Navy's deployment of the Battleship FWS Missouri to the Centralia Canal in the Valentinian Centralia Republic, in order to force the transfer of ownership of Centralia and the Canals to the FWR.

       The Canals are an important chokepoint in international trade in the Sun Prairie Nations, and as such they have been a point of contention in international relations, and was an essential economic point in Valentino. The Republic of Valentino gained control of the new Centralia Republic after the Second Great Prairie War. 

         The FWR, a massive rising power being challenged internationally by the other major rising power, Valentino, decided to take action after the formation of the Valentino Pact. They deployed the battleship Missouri into the south entrance of the canal, effectively asserting Federal Wisconsinite control over the canal. They assured the international community that they would allow any peaceful vessels, military, civilian, or corporate, however the FWR asserting their own control of the ships in the canal was enough to effectively control the canal. 

      Just minutes after this occurred, the United Federation Navy along with other SPATO naval forces deployed from Lake Waubesa in order to maintain peace in the area. In addition, the Valentino Pact mobilized for a full combat stance. President Anderson of the Federation condemned the actions of the Federal Wisconsinite Republic. After significant pressure, the F.W.R. pulled the Missouri back into port. The crisis ends very quickly after that - the date is disputed, but most agree it is around the 10th - 12th of January
