The Ainsley Wall-class Submarine was a class of 6 ballistic missile submarines built for the United Federation Navy to act as the nation's primary deterrant force against the other Great Powers of the SPN. They were the largest submarine class in numbers and in size at the time of the lead ship's launching, USS Ainsley P. Wall.
Launched during the "Submarine Boom" of early 2019, the Wall-class was the most technologically advanced class of submarines ever built for the United Federation, and were designed to replace the USS Flying Fish and USS Endeavour as the country's primary means of nuclear retaliation and deterrance. All 6 boats of the class were named for important figures in the early Federation. Essentially a lengthening of the Banks-George-class Attack Submarine, the Wall-class Subs turned out to be highly effective and well-designed, serving far beyond their predicted lifespans into 2022.
During the Circles Revolt, President Ryan Madden used 3 of the vessels to bombard the revolt's strongholds and cities, kickstarting Prairie War III. During that conflict, the boats would continue to launch their nuclear and conventional warheads at Allied nations, but all 6 of the vessels in the class would be lost to Allied attacks. Their loss was one of the key goals of the Allied naval command during the war.
After the success of the John Banks-George-class Attack Subs, President Lapord authorized construction of at least 4 new submarines, and later approved a total of 6, which would be designed and built by Gateway Co. The Submarines would be built to similar but stretched lines to that of the JBG-class, and would instead be missile submarines, rather than attack subs.
In keeping with the new naming convention, the new class would carry the names of important early UFP members.
USS Ainsley P. Wall - named for 2-term president Ainsley Wall.
USS Caleb Damask - named for the UFP's 3rd member, and long time SPN community member.
USS Adrian Schlafer - named for old Federation founder and current UFP senator.
USS Seth Kosky - named for former admiral and Presidential Bodyguard.
USS Aidan Tucker - named for the early senator and admiral.
USS Noah Berg - Rebel Leader turned Federation Admiral and fleet modernization supporter.
- - Republic of Valentino
RVNSS Friendship - named for the friendship between the UFP and the Republic of Valentino.
RVNSS Valentino - named for the Republic of Valentino. Will be the only submarine to serve as a nation's flagship.
The design of the APW (Ainsley P. Wall) -class is noticeably similar to that of the JBG-class, merely stretched out in the center, which has some truth to it. The Sail (conning tower) is placed far forward of the center, and is the same design and size as those of the JBG-class. In addition, the diameter of the main body is the same, however, instead of attack capabilities, the APW's are designed to fire long range strike missiles.
The USS Ainsley Paige Wall, the first ship of the class, was commissioned into the fleet on January 4th, 2019. It was sent on the first ever diplomatic visit to the State of New Alaska by a presidential staffer, Sec. of Defense John Banks-George. Soon after, it returned to it's homeport of Joint Base Founders United, where it replaced the USS Bowfin as the missile division flagship of the submarine force. On the 7th of January it responded to an oil spill in the Cardinal Heights area.
The USS Caleb David Damask, the second ship of the class, was laid down on Jan. 3rd, 2019, and was completed and commissioned on the 9th of December. The ship is the only vessel of the Federation navy permitted to fly a non-Federation flag: the Flag of the Republic of Valentino. It also features a slightly different hull shape, as an experiment for future vessels.
The USS Adrian Randolf Schlafer is the third ship of the class. It was laid down on Jan. 13th, and was completed on the 14th. It is the third fifth vessel of the Federation Navy to be named for Old Federation Founder, and current Senator and Admiral, Adrian Schlafer.
The USS Seth Kosky is the fourth ship of the class. It entered service on the 18th of January. The vessel was built by Gateway Co, in New Archton.
The USS Aidan D. Matthew Tucker is the fifth ship of the class. The vessel was Built by Gateway Co. of New Archton Shipyards. It was formally requested by Mr. Tucker that another word was added to the vessel's name, Danger, as "Danger is his middle name." It was commissioned on the 21st of January, 2019.
The USS Noah Berg is the sixth and final ship of the class for the Federation, and was commissioned on January 27th, 2019. The vessel was named after the former rebellion leader Noah Berg, who became an Admiral of the Federation Fleet. It was built as the final ship for the Federation.
The RVNSS Friendship will be the seventh ship of the class, and is on order. It will enter service with Valentino in early February, 2019
The RVNSS Valentino will be the eighth and final ship of the class, and is on order. It will enter service with Valentino in early February, 2019. Upon it's commissioning, it will become the Flagship of the Valentino Navy.
