The missile submarine USS Bowfin was a prototype submarine built for testing submersible missiles. However, during the Despa wars it was brought into service with the Federation Navy. The submarine was eventually decommissioned prior to the commissioning of the USS Endeavor, however it was lost while being brought back to the Federation Fleet Headquarters in Groom Lake.

The ship was considered for sale to Despa, however it was lost before this transfer could be completed.
