Federica Mosti
I am cellular and molecular biologist. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Neurobiology Department and the Cell and Molecular Biology program at Duke University in the lab of Debby Silver.
I earned my Master’s at Sapienza University in Rome, where my research focused on epigenomic modifications responsible for genome and telomere stability in Drosophila melanogaster larval brains.
I have three main areas of research. My first project focused on Drosophila melanogaster epigenetic telomere stability. I' am also interested in the role and activity of human specific non-coding regions during human brain development and evolution using human cortical organoids. And the last project investigates the cellular and molecular effects of stress granules induced by missense mutations causing DDX3X syndrome in neural progenitors.
