Write a handwritten card to add to your basket. (First names only please.)
Drop off at the Salvation Army at anytime. This is a year-long effort.
Team Building
Flip the Tarp Challenge
Take two blankets/tarp/flat sheet and lay them on the floor.
Create two teams and have youth stand on the tarp. Youth have to figure out a way to flip the tarp without stepping off the tarp or stepping on the ground.
Have too many youth for only two tarps, add another tarp making groups of three or four.
Add competition?
See which group can complete the challenge first.
Have the younger ones vs the older ones.
(Sometimes the younger ones think more outside the box.)
Project Idea
Create a Bird Feeder
You can make a DIY bird feeder using recycled items like plastic bottles or pinecones, or even simple kitchen supplies, with options ranging from basic peanut butter-coated pinecones to more complex feeders with wooden spoons as perches for a fun, cost-effective way to attract birds to your yard. Popular methods involve cutting holes in plastic bottles and inserting sticks for perches, or slathering peanut butter on pinecones and rolling them in seeds for quick, compostable feeders.
Plastic Bottle Feeder (Easy):
Clean & Prep: Thoroughly wash and dry an empty plastic bottle.
Cut Holes: Cut small feeding holes near the bottle's base, large enough for birds to access seeds.
Add Perches: Poke holes below the feeding holes and insert wooden dowels, pencils, or spoons to create perches.
Fill & Hang: Fill with birdseed, secure the cap, and tie string around the neck to hang from a tree.
