- Manuela M. Veloso: Manuela is on leave from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) where she is Herbert A. Simon University Professor in the School of Computer Science, and where she was the Head of the Machine Learning Department until June 2018. Manuela recently joined J.P.Morgan Chase to create and head an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Center. She researches in AI, Robotics, and Machine Learning. At CMU, she founded and directs the CORAL research laboratory, for the study of autonomous agents that Collaborate, Observe, Reason, Act, and Learn, www.cs.cmu.edu/~coral. Veloso is AAAI Fellow, ACM Fellow, AAAS Fellow, and IEEE Fellow, Einstein Chair Professor of the Chinese National Academy of Science, the co-founder and past President of RoboCup, and past President of AAAI. - Nathan Kallus: http://nathankallus.com/ Nathan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University and Cornell Tech in NYC. His research revolves around the interplay of optimization, causality, and statistics in both inference and in decision making under uncertainty. Prof. Kallus holds a PhD in Operations Research from MIT as well as a BA in Mathematics and BS in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Before coming to Cornell, Nathan was a Visiting Scholar at USC's Department of Data Sciences and Operations and a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT's Operations Research and Statistics group.
- Senthil Kumar: Senthil is a Director of Data Science at Capital One where he applies Machine Learning and AI to various business problems. Prior to joining Capital One, he was at Bell Labs where he developed and managed several successful products that have been licensed around the world. He has published over 30 papers and holds 6 patents. Most recently, he co-organized the KDD 2017 Workshop on Anomaly Detection in Finance
- Sameena Shah: Sameena is a Managing Director and the Head of Data Science for S&P Global Ratings. Previously Sameena led AI strategy, Research and development for Financial and News verticals of Thomson Reuters, where Sameena and her team built and deployed several AI systems including Reuters Tracer, and Magnet. Sameena has worked or consulted for several hedge funds, Asset management firms and startups. She has won several best paper and industry awards, and holds a PhD and Masters in Machine Learning and Optimization from IIT Delhi.
- Isabelle Moulinier: Isabelle is a Senior Director of Data Science at Capital One where she leads research and development in NLP. Before joining Capital One, she was a Director of Research at Thomson Reuters where she led research efforts in information retrieval and machine learning for the Legal and Tax verticals. - John Paisley: John is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University and is an affiliated faculty member of the Data Science Institute at Columbia. He received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University. He was then a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Science departments at Princeton University and UC Berkeley. His research focuses on machine learning for signal and image processing applications and he is interested in Bayesian model and inference techniques for big data problems.
- Jiahao Chen: Jiahao is a data scientist working at Capital One in Card Machine Learning, specializing in emerging technologies, university partnerships, and research in algorithmic fairness and explainability. Prior to joining Capital One in 2017, Jiahao was a Research Scientist at MIT CSAIL leading the Julia Lab, focusing on applications of the Julia programming language to various scientific data science problems and challenges in parallel computing and scientific computing. Jiahao hold a PhD in chemical physics, a MS in applied mathematics, and a BS in chemistry, all from UIUC. He was formerly a postdoctoral associate at MIT, a visiting scholar at Ritsumeikan University in Japan, and a member of technical staff at DSO National Laboratories in Singapore.
