This Privacy Policy explains how the FDown mobile application ("FDown", "the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use it. FDown is a Facebook video downloader for Android published under the application ID vn.fdown.video.downloader.fsaver.
By downloading or using FDown, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
FDown does NOT require you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or Facebook credentials.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app. We collect:
1.1 Device and technical information (automatically)
- A randomly generated device identifier used to register your device with our backend service so the download service works. This ID is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Device model, operating system version, language, and region.
- App version and basic configuration.
1.2 Usage and diagnostics information (automatically)
- Anonymous usage events (for example: a link was analyzed, a download started, a paywall was viewed) collected through Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve it.
- Crash reports and performance data collected through Google Firebase Crashlytics when the app crashes or misbehaves.
- Remote configuration values delivered through Google Firebase Remote Config to control feature flags and limits.
1.3 Content you provide
- The video link (URL) you paste into the app. This link is sent to our backend service at fdown.vn only to analyze it and return the available download options. We do not use it to identify you.
1.4 Purchase information
- When you buy a subscription or the lifetime upgrade, Google Play processes the payment. FDown receives a purchase token from Google Play and sends that token, together with the product ID, to our backend at fdown.vn to verify the purchase and unlock Premium. We do NOT receive or store your credit card number or full payment details; those are handled by Google Play.
1.5 Advertising information
- FDown displays ads through Google AdMob (including Google's ad partners). AdMob may access your device's Advertising ID and limited device/usage signals to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. See Section 4.
We do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, contacts, precise GPS location, photos or files other than the videos you choose to download, or your Facebook account information.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information above to:
- Provide the core function: analyze a link and let you download and save videos.
- Register your device with the backend so the download service works.
- Verify purchases and unlock Premium (ad-free, higher quality, unlimited downloads).
- Enforce free-tier limits (for example a daily download quota) and reward-based unlocks.
- Show and measure advertising to keep the free version running.
- Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and improve the app.
3. HOW VIDEOS AND FILES ARE HANDLED
- Videos you download are saved to your device's gallery and an in-app Library. They stay on your device.
- We do not upload, host, or keep copies of the videos you download on our servers.
- You are responsible for how you use downloaded content. Only download videos you have the right to save, and respect the rights of content owners. Downloading content you do not have permission to use may violate Facebook's terms or applicable law.
4. ADVERTISING AND YOUR CHOICES
- FDown uses Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, native, and rewarded ads in the free version.
- Ads may use your Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- You can opt out of personalized ads in the same device settings.
- Purchasing FDown Premium removes all ads.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
FDown relies on the following third parties, each with its own privacy policy:

6. DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With the third-party services listed in Section 5, to operate the app.
- When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, and property of FDown and its users.
7. DATA RETENTION
- Analytics and crash data are retained according to Google Firebase's default retention periods.
- Device registration and purchase-verification records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or accounting obligations.
- Locally stored data (download history, settings) remains on your device until you clear it in the app or uninstall.
8. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
FDown is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to opt out of certain data uses. Because FDown does not collect account-based personal data, most data is either on your device or anonymous. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
You can also:
- Clear your download history in the app (Settings > Clear download history).
- Reset or delete your Advertising ID in device settings.
- Uninstall the app to stop all further collection.
11. INTERNATIONAL USERS
FDown is available in multiple regions and languages. Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. By using the app, you consent to this transfer, subject to the protections described here.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the updated version and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
