FD Vault ("the App") is developed and maintained as a personal finance tool for managing fixed deposits. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

All your financial data — fixed deposits, bank details, family members, interest payments, transaction history — is stored exclusively on your device using an encrypted local database (SQLCipher).
This data is never transmitted to any server, never shared with third parties, and never accessible to us.
External backup files are encrypted using a password you create and enter at the time of backup. This password is never stored by the App — if lost, the backup cannot be recovered. Backup files are saved to storage you choose (local storage or cloud). We have no access to either the file or the password.
The App also creates automatic local backups encrypted with a device-specific key managed by the device's secure key management system. These backups remain exclusively on your device and are inaccessible to us.

3. DATA WE COLLECT

We collect minimal data and only under specific circumstances:
3.1 Anonymous Authentication
The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to establish a secure session. This does not require any personal information. No name, email, phone number or any identifier is collected or stored.
3.2 Feedback (optional)
If you choose to submit feedback through the in-app feedback form, the following information is sent to our secure servers:
• Your feedback message (required)
• Your name (optional)
• Your email address (optional, only if you wish to receive a response)
• App version number
• Device model (e.g. "iPhone 15" or "Samsung Galaxy A52")
• Timestamp
This information is used solely to respond to your feedback and improve the App. It is not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not sold.
You are never required to submit feedback. This feature is entirely optional.

We do not collect:
• Your FD data, bank details or financial information
• Your location
• Your contacts
• Precise device identifiers (IMEI, phone number)
• Usage analytics or behavioural tracking
• Advertising identifiers

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App uses the following third-party services:
• Firebase (Google LLC) — for anonymous authentication and optional feedback storage. Firebase's privacy policy is available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
No other third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs are used.

6. DATA RETENTION

• Device data: retained until you uninstall the App or clear app data.
• Feedback submissions: Can be deleted by the user from the app at anytime

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is intended for adults managing personal finances. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You may request deletion of any feedback you have submitted by contacting us at the email below. Since all other data is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted in the app release notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
