Horse Royalty

Horse Royalty

It is time to think about the Junior Fair Horse Royalty Program for the year 2024! The upcoming 4-H year promises to be very exciting! The only thing missing is YOU! This is a chance for our most knowledgeable and skilled riders to compete for the title of Horse King or Queen. Attached you will find the application. It is DUE ON OR BEFORE April 1, 2024. There is a $30.00 application fee which helps cover the cost of trophies, shirts, etc. You may also have to purchase the required books if you do not have them already around $8-$10 each. Please make your checks payable to the Franklin County Horse Advisory Committee. Read over the application and Royalty rules carefully.

We will have our first meeting in April at 7:00 pm. The meeting place will be announced at a later date, or a zoom link will be sent out to the email you provided on your application. This meeting is mandatory! For members who want to participate in Royalty and are away at school, you may have a representative attend the first meeting for you. This person can be an advisor or parent. Let the Royalty advisors know at least one week before the meeting. More information about our luncheon, test, interview, and expectations will be given to you during this meeting but also will be found on the Horse Advisory website under Royalty. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions concerning the advisory committee horse shows, Royalty ride-ins, and other fair requirements. Best of all, you will get to meet your fellow contestants and begin some new friendships.

The Horse Royalty Competition is an excellent opportunity to show your pride in yourself and your 4-H Horse project. It is also an opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills that will be of great value to you in your future. Horse Royalty is for older members in 4-H and it helps them learn responsibility and many important skills.
