Family matters and deserve to be valued and preserved at all costs. The Family Conservation and Empowerment (FC&E) recognizes that homelessness, poverty, drug abuse, and family violence have become a major reason for the destruction of families. These issues create physiological, physical, and long-term damage to the family. We also recognize that these issues do not exist in isolation, have no preference of race, or culture, and this occurs in communities worldwide. This reality cannot continue to be depicted in our cultural narrative.
Due to economic issues, families encountering these crises often have no housing or resources. The importance of family structure has become unrecognized. The support we will offer is holistic, restorative, and comprehensive. Family Conservation and Empowerment believe we can make a difference as a community. We can work together to rebuild and strengthen the family.
Feeding The Community in CT
Praise & Empowerment 3rd Annual Cookout
Family Conservation & Empowerment (FC&E) previously known as the Family Conservation Project (FCP), was established in 2018 by Michelle D. Rattigan. The idea started with the concept of family empowerment and the need to rebuild the family structure. This idea intrigued others who decided to join the mission. FCP collaborated with partners in Trench Town, Jamaica to aid in the “Stop the Crime and Violence” event. FCP was able to ship barrels of goods to provide a Christmas treat to children in the Trench Town community.
In 2021, after placing the FC&E on hold new circumstances arose due to the Covid pandemic. During this time, we were able to ship barrels of goods to the Greenwich Farm Community, in Kingston, which provided meals for the disabled. We also took on a book drive project for an Elementary School in Dakar, Senegal. This book drive provided reading books for every child from pre-k to fourth grade. In September 2022, FC&E launched Praise & Empowerment in Hartford, CT, an outreach event to bring churches and the community together. This event has provided free meals and essential goods to the Hartford community. The churches as a collaborative with FC&E are available to minister to those who are homeless, struggling with drug addiction, etc.
2023 Praise & Empowerment event provided meals for over 150 people in Hartford’s North End community. Family Conservation & Empowerment in its mission will continue to impact communities all other the world. We believe that every culture, race, and nationality have a right to peace, happiness, and an enriched life.
