The Fairbanks NAACP Education committee has made contact with several Black Alaskans in the Arts who are willing to talk with teachers about ways to incorporate the Black History Month Theme for this years contest and may be able to come to one of your classes in person or via Zoom. Teachers are reminded that all guest speakers must be approved by their principals.Â
Alyssa Quintyne is a Fairbanks-based artist and a supporter of Black Artists in Alaska. She will be curating the Black History Art Show at the Bear Gallery for the month of February 2024.
Trina Lynch Jackson is a Juneau-based writer and currently is working on her Uncle's art collection which will be at the Bear Gallery for the month of February 2024.
