Did you know there any many ways you can serve with FBGwomen? If it's something you'd like to know more about, we'd love to hear from you.
Just drop us a line! If you know your gifts and interests, we'll get you plugged in. If not, we'd love to help you discover how you can serve.
It's easy to fall out of habit in the summertime. The schedule of the year gives way to the long summer nights, and before you know it a month has gone by and God's word has scarcely been seen.
Here are five ways to stay engaged with God's word this summer, and experience the sweetest summer ever.
Set an alarm. Here's the deal, there is study upon study out there that shows the brain reacts differently to what it receives first thing in the morning. Keep a morning schedule. Get up before the kids, dogs, husbands, cats (or whatever calls for your attention in the morning.) Bible before breakfast.
Or don't. We get it, life happens. So, if you can't find space for God's word first thing in the AM, then commit to yourself that you won't make your phone / social media the first thing you see. (See #1 about studies regarding brains first things in the AM.) And then, set aside a dedicated time later in your day to explore God in His word.
Keep church routines. Commit to being at church every Sunday you are in town. It's easy (so easy) for "just this one Sunday" to turn into two, and then 4, and then 10. God meets His people in special measure in Christ's church.
Serve this summer. Find ways to serve your church, community and neighbors this summer. Exercise your heart for Christ is key to growing it!
Start a summer study with family or friends. Grab some friends, or your family and do a study together this summer. Check out Jude by Jackie Hill Perry if you have girls 10 and up. Or, grab a beautiful Bible book from She Reads Truth to read through and discuss with friends.
