The Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy (FBEA) took the initiative to improve the smooth running of its doctoral and master's studies by organizing the FBEA Postgraduate Colloquium (PGC) since 2009. This annual event is in collaboration with the Centre of Postgraduate Studies UMS (CPS).
The aim of the PGC is to monitor the students’ progress as well as to eliminate any administrative obstacles faced by the students during their tenure of studies. Therefore, the faculty provides an avenue for research students to present their research ideas, progress, findings in academic discourse and to receive feedback and guidance from senior scholars. This is important to maintain a positive learning momentum and inject students’ confidence to remain consistent in their research adventures.
In addition, it will be the best academic discussion for all the participants to share knowledge, debate, and gain input from all the participants and panels of reviewers. Indirectly, students will be able to ensure that their study process runs smoothly and various new inputs are obtained to further refine their thesis. The readiness of the students to present in the approval phase of the Research Proposal and Viva-voce can also be determined and improved through the performance in this colloquium.
Starting in 2018, the faculty has made the attendance compulsory whereby the postgraduate students need to make a three-minute presentation to show their work progress.
Hence, the colloquium committee would like to invite all the postgraduate research students to submit their papers in the upcoming colloquium
