I am broadly interested in many-body quantum systems. In particular:
I study the out-of-equilibrium dynamics, focusing on the role of disorder (e.g. Anderson localization) and topological defects such as domain walls in ferromagnets.
I explore situations where the system of interest is coupled to an environment, giving rise to non-unitary dynamics. The environment can act either as a detrimental factor or a resource engineered to broaden the range of dynamical responses.
I employ optimal control theory to design quantum protocols, both to suppress undesired effects in unitary evolution and to enhance experimental readout in noisy environments.
