Promise Place

PROMISE Place provides a safe and secure independent living setting for youth between the ages of 16-21.

Our fully licensed building offers 4 apartments which house either 2 or 3 residents, with a maximum capacity of 10 residents.

We provide 24/7 trained staff with the appropriate child, state, and FBI clearances. We have fire and life safety systems including monitored fire alarms, continuously-recording video surveillance, installed intercoms to contact staff, and keyless entrances to the building.

PROMISE Place provides trauma- informed care, medical, dental, vision, and mental health assessments through contracted agencies.

It is the expectation of the program that every resident will participate in either work or school or both. The program will assist the resident in establishing a savings account in which 70% of their paycheck needs to be saved.

Transportation provided to work, appointments, and outings. The goal is independence, so the staff will assist the youth in learning about transportation including the bus to work and appointments.

City Mission partners with PA Office of Vocation Rehabilitation (OVR) and Pennsylvania’s Academic Career Technical Training Center (PACTT) program. These programs will assist children with vocation awareness and employability skills. Residents will be able to earn money through this program for completing the training. The program staff will help resident complete resumes, practice mock interviewing, and in some cases job develop and job coach for the residents.
