Statistician, Data Scientist, and Educator 

My name is Faustus Maale, and I am a statistician, data scientist, and Ph.D. student from Ghana, West Africa. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Science and Technology with a concentration in Data Science and Analytics at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T).

I earned a B.Sc. in Statistics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2017–2021), a master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences with a concentration in Data Science from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Cameroon, supported by a full scholarship from the Mastercard Foundation, and an M.S. in Applied Statistics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte).

Before beginning my doctoral studies, I worked as a mathematics teacher at Central Piedmont Community College Early College and as a part-time adjunct instructor at Central Piedmont Community College, teaching mathematics and statistics to high school and undergraduate students. These roles strengthened my experience in teaching, academic mentoring, curriculum development, and the integration of statistical computing and data-analysis tools into instruction.

My research interests include biostatistics, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, multivariate analysis, linear models, high-dimensional data, and statistical computing. I am particularly interested in developing statistical and machine-learning methods that generate actionable insights from healthcare, mental health, and public health data. I am passionate about conducting impactful research, solving real-world problems through data, and mentoring students. I thrive in collaborative research environments while also working effectively and independently.
