SUSTAINABLE TOURISM MASTERY: Skills for Social Impact in Tourism (STM-Tourism)
Sustainable Tourism Mastery: Skills for Social Impact in Tourism (STM-Tourism) is a forward-thinking initiative aimed at modernizing VET education in the Western Balkans, equipping learners with green, digital, and entrepreneurial skills tailored to the sustainable tourism sector. The project brings together universities, VET institutions, industry leaders, and policymakers to bridge the gap between education and labor market needs. The project follows seven structured Work Packages (WPs): Management (WP1): Ensures project coordination, financial management, and quality assurance. Identifying Skill Needs in Tourism (WP2): Conducts research to identify skill gaps focusing on twin transition (green & digital skills). Best Practices Compendium (WP3): Develops a collection of sustainable tourism success stories to inform VET curricula. Capacity Building for Tourism Mastery (WP4): Designs and develops training programs for Sustainable Entrepreneurship Organizations (SEOs) and job seekers. Piloting & Testing (WP5): Implements and evaluates training programs for SEOs, VETs, and job seekers. Emerging Local Tourism Masters (WP6): Develops solutions for sustainable tourism challenges and policy recommendations. Dissemination & Exploitation (WP7): Ensures long-term project impact, website sustainability, and international outreach. By leveraging AI-driven education, sustainable tourism entrepreneurship, and VET-industry collaboration, STM-Tourism creates a resilient, future-ready workforce that drives regional economic growth and sustainability.
