Bursa Technical University SIAM Student Chapter
I headed the establishment of the Bursa Technical University SIAM Student Chapter, the third SIAM chapter in Türkiye, following METU and Sabancı University. The chapter promotes applied mathematics and its interdisciplinary applications across BTU and advances the mission of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) by fostering collaboration and growth in applied mathematics and related fields. It connects students with faculty, researchers, and the global SIAM network. We welcome all interested students to join and contribute to our growing community.
As the faculty advisor, I am committed to supporting a student-driven environment where members can engage with applied mathematics, data science, computer science, engineering, and optimization. Students will have opportunities to interact with distinguished faculty and industry professionals, explore academic and industrial career paths, and participate in national and international SIAM networks.
The chapter organizes a wide range of activities, including seminars on contemporary topics, workshops and training sessions on computational and analytical tools, field visits to industry and research institutions, and collaborative problem-solving events and competitions. Members can also participate in SIAM Annual Meetings, global student events, and local SIAM-themed science outreach programs, fostering professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
