Fatemeh Sarayloo is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Decision Science at the College of Business Administration, University of Illinois Chicago. She also serves as the Director of Graduate Studies (MS-Business Analytics) and the Director of the Center for Applied Analytics. Prior to joining UIC, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science and Operations Research from the University of Montreal and CIRRELT. Her research interests include Combinatorial Optimization, Stochastic Programming, and Statistical Learning, with applications spanning Logistics, Operations Management, and Network Design. Her scholarly work has been published in prominent journals such as the INFORMS Journal on Computing and the Journal of Heuristics.
Dr Sarayloo's teaching experience at Purdue and UIC encompasses a wide range of subjects, including Prescriptive and Predictive Analytics, Discrete Optimization Models and Algorithms (IE537), Advanced Facilities Design (IE482), Computing in Industrial Engineering (IE332), and Probability and Statistics in Engineering. She actively collaborates with industry partners and develops capstone projects in AI and analytics applied to business and finance; some of which have been recognized through conference publications and awards.
