FastCrop by Core42 ("we", "our", or "us") is a browser extension designed for fast, precise, and entirely local image cropping. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our extension handles your data.

2. Data Collection and Processing

We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data, images, browsing history, or user identity. All image processing, cropping, and rendering happen entirely locally on your device. Your images are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party external servers.

3. Local Storage Usage

We use your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) strictly for the following functional purposes:

Storing your recent image files and their temporary data URLs to allow you to quickly reopen recently edited files. This data remains entirely local on your device and is never sent to us or any third parties.

4. Permissions Justification

- "contextMenus": Used to add a "Crop with FastCrop" option when you right-click on an image in your browser.

- "storage" & "unlimitedStorage": Used solely to save your recent images and editor state locally on your machine, preventing data loss during your workflow.

- "clipboardRead": Used exclusively when you explicitly click the "Paste" button in the extension popup or use the designated keyboard shortcut (e.g., Alt+Shift+W). This allows the extension to read image data from your clipboard and load it directly into the editor. We do not monitor your clipboard in the background, and non-image data is ignored.

- "tabs": Used strictly to detect if the FastCrop editor is already open in your browser. This allows our extension to prevent opening duplicate tabs and seamlessly route new images to your active editor session. We do not read, store, or monitor your browsing history or other open tabs.

- "activeTab" & "Host Permissions (*://*/*)": Used exclusively to fetch and load external images into the local canvas when you select them via the context menu or URL parameters. This allows the extension to bypass Cross-Origin (CORS) restrictions strictly for the purpose of displaying the image in your local editor.

5. File System Access

When you open or drag and drop files into the editor, the extension may request a local file handle. This is used strictly to allow you to save (overwrite) your edits directly back to the original file on your device.

6. Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking tools, or advertising services.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
