Fine Art Seal Portfolio

Hi! My name is Seidy Paredes and I am a senior at Maryvale High School. I’m a 4 year choir member. As a freshman I originally started as a beginner in my first semester, then second semester I was moved to intermediate mixed choir. It was such a beautiful mixed choir and a great experience. Since sophomore year, I have been a member of advanced choir. Being in advanced choir allowed me the opportunity to apply and be accepted as Co-President of the choir program. 

Outside of school I’m a Worship leader singer at my church. I’ve been a lead singer at my church for almost 6 years. I’ve also sung at many church events and been invited to sing at weddings and funerals. My family is from Guatemala, but I was born here in the united states. When I was 3 months old, my family moved to Guatemala, and didn’t move back till I was 6 years old. Even at that age I would sing at my old church as a kid. Back in middle school I moved to Maryland for a couple months because I was invited to sing at a big church in Virginia and it was a three day thing. I didn’t start to involve myself in choir at school until I was 13 years old. I started off as an Alto but my high school choir teacher got me out of my comfort zone to put me on soprano 1. I’ve felt more comfortable with my tone and range. 

I feel happy with how much growth I’ve had within the years and all thanks to my choir teachers.  I plan to continue singing in choir and hopefully, being able to get a degree in music. I want to continue with music after I graduate. Music is all my life and I feel honored to be in the position that I am right now.
