Florida ASL Endorsement
The ASL Endorsement is officially recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a specialization for teaching ASL as a foreign language in public K-12 schools.

To obtain a Florida ASL Endorsement, you need to be:
CERTIFIED Educator
teach ASL as a foreign language in a Florida public school
able to meet the following State Board of Education rule
Two pathways to do this:
Become ASLTA Certified with ASLTA
OR
Coursework route

Coursework Route
Earn college credit to meet the endorsement requirements, you must complete three semester hours of coursework in each of the following:
First and second language acquisition
Linguistics of American Sign Language
Aspects of the Deaf culture and community
Methods of teaching American Sign Language
American Sign Language IV (or higher)
American Sign Language literature
