From Content Creator to a Community of Designer Handbag Lovers


Nica initiated the brand in 2014 as a social media entity on platforms such as Instagram and YouTube and expanded to TikTok in 2020, focusing initially on women's fashion. As her audience grew, she shifted towards designer handbags, leveraging social media to market and distribute authentic vintage designer items via various third-party platforms. Despite the substantial fees associated with these platforms, Nica invested $15,000 from her corporate earnings to fund purchases of handbags that resonated personally rather than those solely in high demand.


Her discerning taste and ability to gauge consumer desires led to increased demand across her social channels. Committed to her vision, she transitioned full-time from her position as a Digital Marketing Brand Manager to focus on growing FashioNica, with significant support from her fiancé, Quang Che. Together, they launched www.shopfashionica.com in July 2021.


Introducing "The Bag Drop"


The introduction of "The Bag Drop" marked a pivotal evolution for the online store, connecting it with various social media platforms. This feature involves Nica going live an hour before the drop to discuss and showcase the week's curated designer handbags, available for purchase at 7:00 p.m. PT every Wednesday. The drop features luxury brands such as Hermes, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton and typically sees the items selling out within minutes, underscoring the brand's success and market demand.


The initiative has significantly bolstered the brand's online community, now numbering in the hundreds of thousands across various platforms, and has transformed FashioNica into a profitable business. Now a multi-million dollar operation, the company is led by Nica as CEO and Quang as CFO and CTO.
