Hikumathuge 31 Dhuvas
We all need divine guidance about how to live well with others and how to have a good character. Young people need to know how to have meaningful, healthy relationships and how to be successful in all of life’s areas. Husbands and wives need marriages that will thrive. Parents need to know how to raise their children. What’s the best way to conduct business matters? What obligations do we have toward the poor? There are dangers to avoid too, such as adultery (ޒިނޭ), financial debt, laziness, and bribes (ރިޝްވަތު). These matters of everyday life have been addressed by one of the wisest men who has ever lived, King Solomon (ސުލައިމާނުގެފާނު). God (ﷲ) gave him extraordinary wisdom and insight. Solomon used that God-given wisdom to collect and compose proverbs to give others guidance that has stood the test of time. Now, Solomon’s proverbs (ހަރުބަސްތަކެއް) are available in Dhivehi Bas ދިވެހި ބަސް (Maldivian) in the form of daily readings in the Hikumathuge 31 Dhuvas (Thirty-one Days of Wisdom) app.
King Solomon said:
“Maaiyraskalaan'ge dheke biruvethivumakee h'ikumathuge bingaleve.”
(“Fear of God is the foundation stone of wisdom.”)
If you are a Maldivian who has a sincere reverence for God (ﷲ), the guidance given in this app will be of immense help to you. By spending just a few minutes a day, you could easily read through these proverbs in about a month’s time. The things you will learn from them though will last a lifetime.
These proverbs are rendered in a built-in Thaana font, so even older Android devices back to 4.0 can display the text. We recommend using our Faseyha Dhivehi keyboard app perform searches and make study notes.
The app can stream or download synchronized audio of the entire book. With this app, you can create images with the wise saying placed on a picture background.
We want to make this Dhivehi translation of Solomon’s Proverbs to be accurate, natural, and clear. We welcome your suggestions for improvement.
