Farzaneh Pourahmdi Researcher Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
Hi and welcome!
Since March 2022, I am a researcher in the Energy and Analytics Group of the Division for Power and Energy Systems in the Department of Wind and Energy Systems at DTU. Before joining DTU as a researcher, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Mathematical Sciences Department at the University of Copenhagen and in the Economics Department at the Copenhagen Business School. I also held a position as a visiting researcher in Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London. I received my MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
My research desire is to bridge the gap between the power systems community and other disciplines such as computer science, operations research, mathematics, and economics. More specifically, I am interested in employing data-driven and market-oriented strategies for control, operation, coordination, and long-term planning of energy systems from the perspective of system operators and individual stakeholders. To pursue these research interests, I have actively engaged in various disciplines, including power and energy systems, AI and machine learning, operations research, and mathematics. My current research, which is supported by the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF), focuses on integrating learning and optimization to accelerate the green transition.
