Dr. Farshad Badie
About Me
I'm the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics at the Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) and a Research Fellow at Global University Systems (GUS). I hold a PhD in Human-Centered Communication and Informatics from Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark, where my research centered on cognitive logic, information science, and symbolic AI in human–human–machine interaction systems.
My professional journey focuses on exploring and addressing complex socio-technical challenges, particularly within global higher education. As a developer of student-centred learning and knowledge-construction models, I'm passionate about shaping future-ready learning environments. My work is dedicated to strategic learning solutions that support organisational development through intelligent—human-aware—systems. I believe in the transformative power of Human-Centred Informatics and strive to create meaningful frameworks that enhance the synergy between humans and technology.
My research projects investigate how human beings—logically, cognitively, and strategically—become interconnected as well as how they connect with artificial agents to share information and collaboratively construct knowledge. Generally, my research focuses on 'logic-based' and 'semantic knowledge representation' systems, with a particular emphasis on human and artificial cognition. My research interests lie in the following areas:
Knowledge Representation and Modelling
Human-Centered AI
Logic & Cognitive Processes
Learning & Cognition
Personalised Learning
Digital Transformation
