Dr. Farshad Badie
About Me
I am Dr. Farshad Badie, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics at the Berlin School of Business and Innovation and Research Fellow at Global University Systems (GUS). I hold a PhD in Human-Centered Communication and Informatics from Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark, where my research focused on cognitive logic, information science, and symbolic AI in human–machine interaction systems.
My professional journey has been rooted in exploring and addressing complex socio-technical challenges, especially within the global higher education landscape. As a systems thinker and developer of student-centered learning and knowledge-construction models, I am passionate about shaping future-ready learning environments. My work is dedicated to strategic learning solutions that support organisational development through intelligent, human-aware, systems. I believe in the transformative power of Human-Centered Informatics and strive to create meaningful frameworks that enhance the synergy between humans and technology.
My research projects have been concerned with how human beings--conceptually, logically, and cognitively--become interconnected as well as how they get connected to artificial agents in order to share information together and collaboratively construct knowledge. Generally, my research projects focus on 'logic-based' and 'semantic knowledge representation' systems (with a special focus on the analysis of human and artificial cognition). It can be summarised that my research interests lie in the following areas:
Knowledge Representation and Modelling
Human-Centered AI
Logic & Cognitive Processes
Cognitive Processes in Learning
Personalised Learning
Change Management/Analytics
