Construction Document Sets

PVT HOUSE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT SETS-

This project was about creating a construction document set for an existing building. The set needed to have almost all the necessary documents for a construction cocument set. For this building, the only publically available documents were the basic plans, section, and elevations, and everything else was something that had to be developed. After thorough research, I managed to develop set of drawings based on my understanding of the existing basic drawings, as handful of images of the site and its interior. The purpose of this project was to try and understand the real world application of architectural drawings, and the set of drawings needed for the construction of the building. CROWNINSHIELD GARDEN CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT SET-

For this next project, we had to select a building that we had designed in studio and make a comprehensive construction document set for it. In my case, I chose a greenhouse that I designed for my third-year studio. This greenhouse is located on the site of the Crowninshield Garden. I had to rework the structural system of the building to make it structurally viable for construction, then from there I was able to start developing the comprehensive drawings for the building. For the development of the drawings, I used the physical model I had built in studio, as well as drawings I had developed. In this course, we had to reimagine the building, as far materials, structure, electrical, and mechanical aspects of the building were involved.
