I am a research program manager working at the intersection of AI, economics, and sustainable development, leading major initiatives at the Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) and AIM for Scale. My work focuses on digital agriculture, financial inclusion, and data-driven policy design, with active collaborations across Africa, the Middle East, and global academic partners.
I previously served as a Senior Economist & Data Scientist at Liquidity Capital Group (Venture Capital) and an Economist at Amazon, specializing in econometrics, machine learning, causal inference, and experimental design.
I hold a PhD in Economics from Simon Fraser University, where my dissertation examined bounded rationality and money illusion in currency redenomination. I am a recipient of the SFU President’s PhD Scholarship and the Terry Heaps Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
I have a strong teaching record across four universities, where I taught and supported courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and experimental design. I also design and lead hands-on workshops in data science, AI applications, and economic experimentation, helping students and early-career researchers build practical, industry-relevant skills.
I mentor young economists and data scientists, support African students pursuing graduate studies, and contribute to educational outreach across multiple regions. I am multilingual—speaking Arabic and several West African languages—and bring a globally informed perspective to research, policy, and technology.
