Many people think applying for Farm Classification is easy. They assume just because they have a farm, invested money in their farm or have started a farm that they should automatically get approved for farm status on their property assessment. The truth is, unless your property and farm activity meets the requirements of the Farm Regulation you will be denied Farm Classification in British Columbia.
FarmAssessment.com was created to assist farmers in obtaining and maintaining farm status on their property. Farm Class defense through the Property Assessment Review Panel (PARP) and the Property Assessment Appeal Board are among the services provided (PAAB).
The website was created by Aubrey Grace, a former employee of BC Assessment for 22 years. During his tenure, he oversaw the evaluation of residential, commercial, development property, recreational, and farm assets. In addition to handling assessments from year to year, he was significantly involved in defending assessments through Agent and Assessor appeals, as well as public appeals.

Section 23 of the Assessment Act and B.C. Reg. 411/95, the Classification of Land as a Farm Regulation (the “Farm Class Regulation”), set out the requirements that must be met for land to be classified as farm for assessment and tax purposes. Together, section 23 of the Assessment Act and the Farm Class Regulation will be referred to as “Farm Class Legislation”. Source: info.bcassessment.ca
