I am actively seeking collaborative opportunities with academic institutions, national laboratories, and industry partners in the areas of advanced photonics, fiber-optic sensing, extreme-environment instrumentation, and energy-related technologies.
As an Assistant Research Professor at Missouri S&T, my work focuses on the development of high-temperature and harsh-environment photonic sensing systems, femtosecond laser micromachining, integrated photonic devices, and distributed fiber-optic monitoring solutions for energy, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing applications.
Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors in sapphire and silica for >2000 °C environments
Distributed fiber-optic sensing (BOTDA, OFDR, microwave photonics)
Femtosecond laser micromachining and waveguide writing in single crystals
High-temperature diagnostics for steelmaking, electric arc furnaces, and energy systems
Optical chemical and biosensing platforms (MOF-based, SPR, PCF-based sensors)
Integrated photonic systems and RF/microwave photonics
Wafer-level fabrication and stealth laser processing
Thermal-aware and reliability-focused photonic system design
70+ journal publications (Nature, IEEE TIM, JLT, Optics Letters, Optics Express, ACS Sensors, etc.)
20+ conference papers and 2 U.S. provisional patents
