Farenidham (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Sakshat Savita mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

3.1 Information you provide

When you choose to create an account or use certain features, we may collect:

Account information: name and email address from Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple
Profile information (optional): first name, last name, city, and email that you enter in your profile
App content you create: bookmarks, reading progress, favourites, personal notes, reading history, reading plans, and app preferences (such as language, theme, and font settings)

You can use much of the App without signing in. In that case, much of this data is stored only on your device.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

Usage and analytics data: such as screens viewed, reading sessions started or completed, search activity (including search terms and result counts), feature usage, sign-in method, selected language, and technical errors
Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, and similar diagnostic data
Identifiers: a Firebase user ID when you are signed in, used to link your account and sync your data

We do not use analytics to collect the full text of sacred content you read. Analytics may include metadata such as book part, chapter, or kiran references.

3.3 Permissions

Depending on how you use the App, we may request permission to:

Send notifications for reading reminders and related alerts
Save images when you export or share content (for example, quotes)
Access network connectivity to sync data and load content
Keep the screen awake during reading, if you enable that feature

You can change most permissions in your device settings.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Provide core App features (reading, search, bookmarks, notes, reading plans)
Sync your data across devices when you sign in
Remember your preferences and reading progress
Send local notifications you schedule or enable
Improve the App through analytics and crash/error reporting
Deliver app updates and configuration changes
Respond to support requests
Comply with legal obligations

5. How we store and sync your data

On your device: Data is stored locally using device storage (for example, shared preferences) so the App works offline.
In the cloud (optional): If you sign in, your data may be stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) and associated with your account.
Without sign-in: Your personal data generally remains on your device and is not synced to our servers.

Cloud-synced data may include profile details, app settings, bookmarks, notes, reading progress, reading history, and reading plans.

6. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party services that may process data on our behalf:

Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Analytics, Remote Config) : Account sign-in, cloud sync, usage analytics, remote configuration

Google Sign-In : Optional authentication

Google Play / Apple App Store : App distribution, in-app updates, and in-app review prompts

7. Data retention

Account data: Kept while your account is active.
After account deletion: When you delete your account from App settings, we delete your cloud-stored account data and associated Firebase authentication record, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention periods.
Local data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data.
Analytics data: Retained according to Firebase/Google Analytics retention settings.

8. Your choices and rights

You can:

Use the App without signing in (limited sync)
Update your profile in the App
Delete your account from Settings → Account & Privacy (signed-in users)
Disable notifications in device or App settings
Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing farenidham.dev@gmail.com

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or similar laws).

9. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to cloud services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International data transfers

If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using the App, you consent to such transfers where permitted by law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
