The surge in multi-story constructions has notably increased population density in these developing urban areas. The scarcity of available land in urban zones has prompted the adoption of vertical housing as a solution to this spatial constraint. However, this trend poses a significant challenge for wheelchair users, leading to restrictions and social isolation in their daily lives. The limitation of accessibility restricts this group from being able to live independently without the needs of others. Accessibility is designing buildings or designated spaces within them to ensure individuals, regardless of disability, age, or gender, can access, enter, utilize, and leave them. Accessibility involves enabling independent approaches, entries, evacuations, and/or use of a building and its facilities by all potential users, guaranteeing their individual health, safety, and well-being throughout these interactions. (MS 1184:2014). This study will be focusing on giving a wheelchair friendly environment for vertical living in Bandar Sri Permaisuri in the whole housing development starting from entrance to their housing unit for wheelchair users. This study will be using qualitative method which is case studies, observations, interviews and literature reviews as support such as Malaysia Act book, Malaysian Standard 1184: 2014, reports and other written journal as supporting the analysis. As a result of this, a new housing scheme is designed to cater to the needs of accessible housing for wheelchair users that is wheelchair friendly throughout the whole housing development.
