Leadership Positions

I have always been interested in community service and I have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity serve in organizational leadership positions at Clemson University

President of International Student Association

International Student Association is a student organization fostering and building relationships and understanding among all Clemson University students, staff and faculty, and between American people as a whole. As the president of this association I have been a representative of the interests of international students at various levels in the University system.

The most recent example was my advocacy for international students who were stressed out about a new policy by the US government that endangered the students presence in the US if their University goes fully online. We published a statement and then were in constant communication with the University officials to come of with a plan of action to protect the international students.

My place card for the GSG senate sessions.

Senator of Graduate Student Government

I represent the Mechanical Engineering department in the Graduate Student Government (GSG) Senate. The Clemson University Graduate Student Government (CGSG) is the representative assembly of the graduate student body.

I have written and voted for several pieces of legislation in areas related to the interests of graduate students. I've been a member of two senate committees:

  1. Finance: With an allocated budget of $35,000, this committee is in charge of providing financial resources for campus student organizations to hold academic and social events.

  2. Graduate Student Life: This committee advocates for graduate students in the matters related to their life and well being in Clemson. We negotiate with the university on subjects like tuition and fees, health care, campus accessibility, etc. We recently passes a legislation on the subject of Academic Bullying which is being considered by the University as an official policy.

Board Member of Clemson Iranian Student Organization

I have been an advocate for Iranian students at Clemson University since the first few months of my studies at Clemson. I try to help represent the rich Iranian culture in Clemson campus specially during the current times that the public perception of Iranians in the United States is not accurate. I have helped organize cultural events such as Iranian new year, international food festival, musical performances, etc.
