Welcome everyone!
My name is Martin Nguyen. I come from the south of Vietnam, where everything is beautiful and peaceful. I graduated from Lane Community College in June 2018 with an Associate's degree in Business. My major is Finance. At Lane, I was a Peer Mentor: Credit Academic Leader. My colleagues and I helped international students with their academic such as classes and schedule; we also supported them in time-management, getting access to resources that available at Lane such as free tutoring, trips and events, counselors, and so on.
I love studying at Lane Community College! The contents of classes are valuable, and the professors are knowledgeable as well as super friendly. They are always there to help you whenever you got stuck with the classes. On the other hand, students at Lane (classmates and friends) are very welcoming and they will try their best to support you. To be successful at Lane, one tip that I would like to share with you is that, try to manage your time schedule well! Studying in colleges is not easy; therefore, you need to arrange your schedule reasonable between studying and participating in events, having fun with others. Also, whenever you get lost, talk to your Peer Mentors and the Academic Advisors. We are always here to help and welcome you, so don't feel shy to ask any questions! Asking is the key!
I hope that you will enjoy your beautiful time at Lane Community College. Good luck with your academic journey!
Best,
Martin Nguyen
Hi everyone,
My name is Nhu Pham (Niel), an international student from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. My major is Environmental and Ecological Engineering. I graduated from Lane Community College in June 2018 with an Associate's Degree for Applied Sciences Oregon Transfer (AASOT). While studying at Lane, I became a Peer Mentor - Credit Academic Leader. Our mission is to assist incoming international students as they make their transition into Lane and adapt to the diverse and multicultural environment of U.S. culture.
Lane Community College is the perfect place for students to begin their academic journey in the U.S. The professors are very knowledgeable, friendly, and they all look forward to seeing you succeed. The classes I took provide me a lot of hands-on experiences and practical applications of concepts that we learned during the lecture. In my free time, I love wandering around the streets in downtown Eugene or spending times volunteering at Eugene Public Library. The library is right next to Titan Court, so it is very convenient!
I hope you will enjoy your journey here at Lane Community College.
All the best,
Niel Pham
