Two young sisters, Satsuki and Mei, move to the countryside with their father while their mother is in the hospital. They discover magical creatures in the nearby forest, including the gentle forest spirit Totoro. With Totoro’s help, the sisters experience wonder and comfort during a challenging time for their family.
