Mercury is the first planet from the sun, as well as the first planet in our Solar System. It is a interesting grey rocky planet. Mercury is the farthest away from Earth, in our Solar System.
Venus is the second planet in our Solar System. It is made out rock and hot molten lava. Mercury is the second furthest planet from Earth in our Solar System.
Earth is our home planet, and the third planet in the Solar System. Earth is made out of multipe materials including ice and rock. Earth is the only well-known life-supporting planet, but there are other life-supporting planets outside of our Solar System.
Mars is the red planet. It is the fourth planet, and the most studied planet in our whole Solar System. Astronomers and Astronauts have discovered multiple life signs on Mars, and it might be habitable!
Jupiter is the fifth planet in our Solar System. It is a Gas Giant, meaning it is a giant planet, made entirely out gas. Jupiter is the planet with the famous red spot. A giant storm happens in that dot.
Saturn is the sixth planet in our Solar System. It is a Gas Giant and has unique rings around it. The rings have formed over millions of years out of ice, parts of asteroids and moons, and gas.
Uranus is the seventh planet in our Solar System. It is considered an Ice Giant, because its surface is mostly ice and methane, and its core can reach up to 9,000 degrees farenhight!
Neptune is the eighth planet in our Solar System. It was found by two astronomers named John Couch Adams, and Urbain Le Verrier. They predicted the coordinates and aimed their telescopes at it, and it was only one degree off from their original estimate. Neptune is an Ice Giant, made mostly out of water, and methane.
Pluto is a Dwarf Planet, and the "Ninth Planet" in our Solar System. It kind of looks like an ice cream scoup! Pluto is such a small planet, it cannot even be classified as a planet!
Dalix is a newly discovered, life supporting planet outside of our Solar System. The image is just an estimate of what it looks like, since it is still forming in the Orion Nebula. Humans will take off the the first missions there, in 5 billion years, when Dalix is fully formed. It is our future home and life! Dalix orbits a K-type star called Ementick. Ementick keeps every planet in the Lamick Solar System warm, unless the planet is too far.
Kepler 22-b is an Exoplanet outside of our Solar System, that supports life, but you must wear a spacesuit if you ever go. The pressure is too high to live on for humans with no suits. The air carries chemicals that will kill you in up to 10 minutes. Kepler 22-b is just one planet out of many in the Kepler Solar System, orbiting a star called Kepler-22. Kepler-22 is a G-type main sequence star, and hot enough to support life, on its orbiting planet, Kepler 22-b! Kepler 22-b is a Super Earth, meaning it's 2x the size of Earth.
