Honors Geometry (9)

Honors Geometry (9)

Geometry is a branch of mathematics that studies the properties, measurements, and relationships of points, lines, planes, angles, and shapes. Geometry is closely connected with other branches of mathematics such as algebra, logic, probability, trigonometry, and calculus. This course will help your student think logically and abstractly; two skills that are essential for higher-level thinking needed in upper level math courses. Basically, a strong foundation in Geometry will generally predict success in future high school and college math courses along with their careers. Having a strong background in geometry will help prepare students for many careers in business, engineering, architecture, health professions, and computer science. Although many students will not immediately see the advantages to taking and understanding geometry, its usefulness in future math classes, including trigonometry and calculus, makes it essential.
