I received my PhD in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at the Pennsylvania State University, working with Ken Davis (Earth-Atmos-Interactions-Lab).

My current research focuses on understanding the role of vegetation dynamics in flash drought development and improving flash drought prediction through process-based modeling.

Originally from Hefei, China, I studied Environmental Science and GIS at the University of Maryland and earned a Master’s degree in Energy and Environment from Duke University.
Outside of research, I enjoy playing piano, traveling, and exploring new cultures and ideas—my goal is to visit a new national park each year. List so far: Yosemite, Everglades, Hawaii Volcanoes, Denali, Kenai Fjords, Rocky Mountain, Glacier.
