Dear Families,

Last week was Career Day here at APPA.  As part of this whole-school event, students got a chance to meet with guest speakers and here about different careers right here in the Bronx.  Even more importantly, each student had a one on one conversation with their teacher about their current data and progress.  Together, they set goals for the rest of the year to support each student in "being their best self".

It was really a great day and exciting to see so many students take ownership of their progress.  We encourage you to ask your student about their Leadership Binder -- which is where they are keeping their goals and data.  Students will continue to use the binder not only this year but throughout their year's at APPA to track their accomplishments.

Queridas familias,

La semana pasada fue el Día de la Carrera aquí en APPA.  Como parte de este evento para toda la escuela, los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de reunirse con oradores invitados y hablar sobre diferentes carreras aquí en el Bronx.  Aún más importante, cada estudiante tuvo una conversación individual con su maestro sobre sus datos actuales y su progreso.  Juntos, establecieron metas para el resto del año para ayudar a cada estudiante a "ser lo mejor de sí mismo".

Fue realmente un gran día y emocionante ver a tantos estudiantes hacerse cargo de su progreso.  Le recomendamos que le pregunte a su estudiante acerca de su Carpeta de Liderazgo, que es donde guarda sus objetivos y datos.  Los estudiantes seguirán usando la carpeta no sólo este año sino durante sus años en APPA para realizar un seguimiento de sus logros.
