Thank you for visiting my gold award website!
I put up informational placards around Westborough's trails for my Girl Scout Gold Award project. A Gold Award is the highest achievement a Girl Scout can receive. To receive the Gold Award, a Girl Scout has to complete a Gold Award project, which entails completing about 80 hours of work on a project that will benefit her community.
I am passionate about nature and hiking, so I wanted my project to help my community learn more about nature and hiking. There are a lot of really great trails around Westborough, the Westborough Charm Bracelet, that I, personally, love hiking around, and I want more people to hike along these trails, especially children. I remember when I was younger, some of the places my family and I would go would have little scavenger hunts along the trails and I remember really enjoying running around finding all the things I was supposed to find. Because I got so much joy from finding these things on trails when I was young, I wanted something similar on the trails in Westborough, both to provide a fun excursion for families, and to encourage use of the Westborough Charm Bracelet.
Once I had my idea, I needed to make it into a reality. After many hours of work, I eventually finished my project into what you can see today.
