Common Dental Problems And What to do

There are a variety of common orthodontic difficulties that might arise at any point in one's career. The two most frequently seen problems are those involving the retainers and how they fit. When it comes to the inner bite, canines that are too long, crossbite or open bite, overcrowding of the upper back teeth, or the space between your top and bottom front teeth, braces can be utilized to correct the problem. These issues commonly manifest themselves before the age of eight, but don't be concerned! Family Braces has a dental assistant on staff that specializes in treating orthodontic patients, so we can assist you in setting up a treatment plan for your child to correct this frequent orthodontic condition and get them started on taking care of their smile right away.

Isn't it true that everyone knows what braces are for? However, not every orthodontist is knowledgeable in how to correct them. Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought to yourself, "Man, my grin could use some improvement?" You have, without a doubt, We've all done it! But what can you do to make your smile brighter? So let's take a look at some of the most typical issues that people with braces encounter, as well as how to resolve them.

Let's face it: we've all experienced problems with our teeth at some point in our lives. Some are more prevalent than others, while some may be a little harder to come by than others. If you're concerned about your smile and believe you may be suffering from one of these issues, don't be concerned — it's probable that an orthodontist will be able to correct the issue. Here are some of the most common issues we encounter here at Family Braces, as well as the remedies we recommend.

Overbite

The word "overbite" is used to describe a situation in which the top row of teeth rests excessively far in front of the bottom row of teeth, resulting in a bite that seems to be "over." This can lead to further concerns down the future (such as tooth and jaw pain), so it's something that should be addressed as soon as possible when you notice the problem. For the solution, braces were used. These can assist you in bringing your upper row of teeth back into good alignment with your lower row.

Underbite

An underbite is similar to an overbite, only that it occurs in the other direction — instead of your top row being too far forward, your bottom row is excessively forward. What is the solution? Once again, braces are required! If you give it enough time and patience, your braces will assist you in bringing everything back into line and giving you the smile you've always desired.

Even though braces are known to be uncomfortable, there are some typical issues that we find at the clinic that can make things even more uncomfortable. Here are some of the most frequent orthodontic issues, as well as suggestions for how to resolve them.

Brackets that are a little loose

It's possible that the adhesive will become loose over time, causing your brackets to move out of their proper position. If this occurs, you should contact our office as soon as possible because it is a sign that your appliance requires adjustment. In order to proceed with treatment, we shall re-cement the bracket.

Bands that are too loose

Bands can become loose as well if they are not correctly secured in the first place. If this occurs, please call us as soon as possible so that we can re-cement them before they fall off and you lose your glasses.

Wire that has come undone

It is possible for the wire in your braces to become loose or to fall out of its slot on a bracket at any time. Most of the time, this is caused by a loose bracket or the wire rubbing against something and becoming bent out of shape. Typically, you will need to come in for an adjustment so that we can either repair or replace the item. But if you detect it's coming out of a certain region, you may be able to reposition it by using tweezers or nail clippers to secure it back into position.

We've gone over some of the most common orthodontic issues and how they can be resolved. If you are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment and are suffering any of the problems listed above, don't be concerned. Your orthodontist will be able to provide you with a variety of options to assist you along the journey. As always, you should consult with your orthodontist if you have any questions or if the difficulties continue.

As you can see, even while orthodontic difficulties such as spacing continue to be prevalent, there are options available to fix these problems. If you are having any of these symptoms, don't put off seeking treatment because doing so may result in severe complications in the future.
