Family Tree Lite was created as a simplified version of the FamilySearch Family Tree, designed for users with limited internet access or those who prefer a more basic interface. It presented family information in a list format instead of a traditional tree view, making it easier to navigate and manage on slower connections or mobile devices.
The Family Tree Lite website has now been turned off. Users will now need to use the main website or mobile apps. A banner to warn users was put up at the end of June. It has already been replaced by updated technology on the web and features like Guided Tree Building on web and mobile app.
